A New Era for Local Business: The White Rock Business Alliance Launches in East Dallas
There’s a unique energy in East Dallas—a mix of lakeside calm and entrepreneurial grit. If you’ve spent any time at White Rock Lake, you know it’s not just a recreational hub; it’s the literal and figurative heart of our community.
This week, that heart beat a little stronger with the official launch of tJon Roussel Network a hyper-local networking powerhouse founded by East Dallas sales executive Jon Roussel.
Strengthening the Economic Fabric
The alliance held its inaugural kickoff on January 14, 2026, at Well Grounded Coffee Community, a local favorite on Garland Road. The mission is simple but ambitious: “Strengthening the economic fabric of East Dallas through meaningful relationships.”
Unlike broad city-wide chambers, this “Jon Roussel network” is designed specifically for those who live and work in the White Rock Lake area. It’s a group for the neighbor who owns a boutique in Lakewood, the consultant working from a home office in Lake Highlands, and the service provider in Little Forest Hills.
Why This Matters for East Dallas
East Dallas is often defined by its independence. We love our local coffee shops, our “3G” (Gaston-Garland-Grand) intersection quirks, and our preservation of the lake’s natural beauty. Jon Roussel recognized that while the community is strong, its business owners needed a more dedicated platform to:
- Foster Local Referrals: Moving away from national lead-gen sites and back to word-of-mouth trust.
- Advocate for Small Business: Acting as a collective voice for infrastructure, safety, and zoning issues (like the recent discussions around high-density developments near the lake).
- Mentor and Grow: Creating a “60-Second Spotlight” where experts share wins and specific asks to help one another scale.
What to Expect at the Meetings
The meetings are structured to be high-impact and low-ego. Led by Roussel, the sessions focus on:
- Informal Networking: Connecting over coffee and pastries.
- The “White Rock” Vision: Aligning on why hyper-local integrity matters.
- Strategic Asks: A dedicated time for every member to share exactly what kind of lead or connection they need to succeed this month.
How to Get Involved
If you are a local business owner or professional looking to grow your reach without leaving the neighborhood, the White Rock Business Alliance is looking for you. The requirements are straightforward: You must live and/or work in East Dallas to join.
As the “shop local” movement continues to be the backbone of our neighborhood’s character, initiatives like this ensure that the businesses we love today are still here tomorrow.
We meet each Monday at 9:00 AM at Well Grounded Coffee Community at White Rock. you can register for free here:
